I value and hope to empower every individual to make a positive impact in both their immediate environment and our collective world. I specialize in assisting individuals by increasing their ability to manage their mood, thoughts and behavior more consistently and effectively. Areas addressed may include depression, anxiety, communication, and overall life satisfaction. I employ a variety of proven therapeutic modalities that can be utilized based on the treatment goals, values, personality, and needs of each individual. My goal is to help people create harmony and balance in their lives resulting in greater happiness.

I believe the relationship between the therapist and the patient is one of the most important factors in obtaining a successful therapeutic outcome and improving mental health. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families in all stages of life. I am a careful and confidential listener and understand that every person is a unique individual with common problems deserving of dignity, compassion and respect.

I have been working in the mental health industry since 1990. I have been employed by both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and mental health facilities before and after receiving my LPC license. I graduated from the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in private practice since 2002.  I founded Houston Psychotherapists, Inc., in 2007. I am a member in good standing with the Texas Counseling Association and the Houston Counseling Association.

I also manage and co-facilitate the Cypress location of The PRISM Center Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Our IOP is an eight-week comprehensive treatment program designed for adults and adolescents who are experiencing considerable distress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal struggles and/or problems in coping and functioning in life.  We offer a structured curriculum that can be an effective alternative to hospitalization or serve as an aftercare treatment or step down program following hospitalization or residential recovery.

Providing a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment is a key component of effective therapy. Houston Psychotherapists, Inc., is a group of independent clinicians working together to offer a full range of psychological services. Our “Contemporary Design Award Winning” offices are conveniently located in the North Cypress Medical Center – Professional Building One.
